Gene Levental is a licensed real estate broker and serves as the Managing Director of SVN Affordable.  He has been in the brokerage of multi-family real estate for 14 years and focuses solely on Project Based Section 8 housing.

Prior to joining Sperry Van Ness, Gene was an independent broker where he built his reputation by identifying angles and creating value on deals translating to top dollar values for his clients.  Joining Sperry Van Ness gave Gene national reach, exposure, and resources while maintaining his niche of focusing on fewer deals, knowing them in great detail, and assuring they get to the closing table. Gene’s comprehensive understanding of construction and building systems coupled with his in‐depth knowledge of financial underwriting allow him to aggressively represent the interests of his clients when going to market.  Further, his understanding of the highly regulated environment of Affordable Housing makes him uniquely qualified to value and sell Section 8 projects.

Gene graduated from Miami University (Oxford, OH) with a major in Marketing and Finance. He also owns and manages a portfolio of boutique properties of just over 200 units in his hometown of Cincinnati. The apartment business is not only his career, but more importantly, his passion and hobby. He is married with two beautiful little girls, is bilingual, enjoys working out, is a bit of movie junkie, and enjoys classic cars.
